How to Read a Welcome Bonus Before You Claim
Check the wagering requirement first
The wagering requirement tells you how many times you must play through the bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings. For example, a 20x requirement on a RM200 bonus means you need to place RM4,000 in bets. Lower numbers are better, but always read the full term.
Look for the phrase "turnover" or "playthrough" in the terms. If the requirement applies to both the deposit and the bonus, that is a worse deal. A requirement that applies only to the bonus is more favourable. Compare this number across different offers.
Understand which games count
Not all games contribute equally to the wagering requirement. Slots usually count 100%, but table games such as blackjack or roulette may count only 10% or less. If you prefer table games, a bonus with low slot contribution becomes hard to clear. Always check the game contribution table.
Some platforms exclude certain games entirely. For instance, live dealer games or progressive jackpot slots may be excluded. If you play excluded games while a bonus is active, you may void your bonus and any winnings. Stick to games that contribute fully.
Note the maximum bet limit
Most welcome bonuses impose a maximum bet per spin or hand while the bonus is active. This is often RM30 or RM50 per round. If you exceed this limit, the casino can void your bonus and confiscate winnings. Betting small and steady keeps you safe.
The limit usually applies to the bonus balance only, but some terms apply it to your real money balance too. Read the exact wording. If you are unsure, bet well below the stated limit. This rule exists to prevent players from clearing the requirement too quickly.
Find the expiry period
Every welcome bonus has an expiry date. You must meet the wagering requirement within a set number of days, often 7, 14, or 30. If you do not finish in time, the bonus and any pending winnings are removed. Mark the deadline on your calendar.
Some bonuses also have a shorter expiry for the free spins or bonus credits themselves. For example, free spins may be valid for only 24 hours after activation. Log in to the lobby and check the "My Bonuses" section to see exact dates. Plan your play sessions accordingly.
Look at the minimum deposit
The minimum deposit required to qualify for a welcome bonus is usually stated clearly. It can be as low as RM10 or as high as RM100. Depositing below this amount means you get no bonus. Always deposit at least the minimum shown, using a method you prefer.
Malaysian players often use Touch 'n Go, GrabPay, or bank transfer. Check if the bonus is available for e-wallet deposits. Some bonuses are only for specific deposit methods. If you use a method not listed, you might not receive the bonus. Confirm before you send money.
